Dark chocolate praline with hazelnuts
Suitable as table decoration, as an accompaniment to our gift sets, etc.
These Piedmontese truffles are made in a small torrone manufactory using only the finest IGP hazelnuts. Piedmontese truffles are part of a long northern Italian confectionery tradition. When the conquistadors brought back not only news of the New World but also cocoa from their voyages of exploration, chocolate fever spread like wildfire. Within just a few decades, it had profoundly changed European tradition, fashion, and culinary culture. In the 17th and 18th centuries, cocoa was so widespread that hot chocolate could be enjoyed in every Venetian and Florentine tavern. During this time, Piedmont developed into a major center for cocoa and confectionery.
